Parenting Services at FIRC
Are you an expecting parent or new parent of a child age 0-36 months looking for resources? FIRC’s parenting services focus on helping parents overcome the challenges of raising a family in Summit County.
We offer:
- A year-long Parenting program that offers bi-monthly Home Visitations with a Parent Peer (registration happens once per year – in December of 2025)
- A monthly Spanish-speaking Support Group that is open to Summit County parents (email HarryC@summitfirc.org to get signed up)
- A brief one-time Consultation (limited to one hour per parent) with our experienced Parenting Consultant in English or Spanish.
We connect parents with resources, increase knowledge of child development, promote positive parenting skills, facilitate meeting other parents in this community, and develop or strengthen support networks. We are here to ensure your family’s basic needs are met so that you can thrive.

Year-long Parenting Home Visitation Program
Our year-long parenting program is now full. We will open the program at the end of 2025 for new families.
Our Home Visitation program currently works with 44 children (ages 0-36 months) and their families through the next program year (September 1st, 2024 – December 31st, 2025). The program offers twice-per-month home visits using the Parents as Teachers and Partners for a Healthy Baby curriculums.
Our amazing Bilingual Parent Peers will connect enrolled families with resources to ensure their basic needs are met, support families in setting and achieving their goals, connect families to build social networks, and support parents in building nurturing relationships with their children and in promoting their child’s development.
Parenting Home Visitation Goals:
- Help parents become the first and best teachers to their children.
- Make connections to valuable resources and help families meet their basic needs.
- Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and setting parenting/family goals.
- Provide social-emotional education, pro-social connections, workshops, and events.
- Provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues.
- Prevent child abuse and neglect.
We work with families that live or work in Summit County, Colorado AND are either pregnant women, or parents/guardians of children ages 0-36 months.
Parenting Tips by Text
Parents who sign up for FIRC’s Parenting Tips by Text support will receive a monthly alert for useful, local and relevant information. Resources include activities and events in our community, useful technical tools, important deadline reminders, program enrollments, and much more.
