NO-COST GROCERIES, ZERO BARRIERS, AND FRESH FOOD!
FIRC’s Community Food Markets provide options for fresh, healthy, and nutritious food, while also helping families stretch their budgets, save, and connect. We encourage all residents to visit our Community Food Markets once a week to receive up to $200 worth of groceries.Â
FIRC’s Community Food Markets address issues related to food insecurity, food equity, food waste, resource sharing, as well as the implementation of broad-scale food systems change in Summit County. Our Community Food Markets offer access to no-cost groceries, household and hygiene items, as well as diapers and wipes. Additionally, we assist with referrals to WIC & SNAP applications for more food resources!
While we try to offer a variety of foods that meet varying dietary restrictions, allergies, or food preferences, we cannot guarantee we will have food items available that meet all special requests.Â
Food Market Questions call 970.262.3888 or email foodmarket@summitfirc.orgÂ
FOOD EQUITY COALITION
FIRC’s Food Equity Coalition is a group of community members with lived experience of food insecurity and are the driving force for transforming food distribution sites into welcoming spaces for the community. Shoppers are not required to provide any identification, paperwork, or income information to access a variety of fresh food products, including produce, dairy, meat, and grains, along with shelf-stable pantry items and other products.
The Food Equity Coalition is community-informed and community-designed, with a foundation in food cultural justice that drives significant systems change.
THIS INSTITUTION IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PROVIDER.
